Three days ago we had our first lesson in surfing and it made us fly... strait into the ocean! You always need to start falling down. Apparently I am pretty good since this was my first time and all... the instructor says its probably because Ive done some snowboarding :) And what a feeling it is, when I caught a wave... oh my god, surfing is FUN! When I got back the instructor asked me how I was feeling, and I felt great... I think he knew the grin on my face... :D A girl from Ireland went with us and she told us thad it was her first time and I felt crappy at surfing but then the insturctor told us that it was her 4th lesson, and then I felt alot better (always way too competitive). Lena twisted her knee but still finished the lesson, an hour and a half more, a real hard ass ;) We took her to the doctor the next day and she had X-Rays off both knees which came out good... she didnt brake anything :) According to the doctor she need to relax and take it easy for 5 days so meanwhile Ive been getting surflessons everyday :) Pollyanna (a.k.a Hrafnhildur Lilja) pointed out that since it had too happen, its good that it happened here and not in Buenos Aires or Montevideo... because here everything is so relaxed and nice :) The waves where a bit strong today and it felt like they were showing me hows the boss but I cought a good one in the end. Lena wlked down there with me and took some photos and videos so... maby you can laugh at me too ;) in the really thight wetsout :S
Yesterday we had a great day, girlyday! We gave ourselves facials and then after the surfing lesson we took a siesta. Then 2 of our friends here (one from Swiss and the other from Canada) had already gone out and bought everything for the meal we where going to cook together so we asked what we could do.... drink red wine, they said, and so we did our best to look cute while drinking the red wine :D Then we needed some bread and I went to the gas station on the corner... and they actually baked bread for me... in 10 minutes :) Great service! We put some tables together and had a great meal, a girl from England joined in and a couple of guys from New Zealand sat with us and we just chatted and had fun.
One thing... my hair is really curly by now so it looks like a mild version of Monica´s hair :D
We miss you all, apparently there was snow yesterday in Olafsfjordur (my hometown), dont really miss the snow, I must say... enjoy walking around wearing skurts and dresses too much :)
We will stay here at least one more day, while Lena is getting better.
Guys... will you please stop envying us because we´re getting the hickups a bit often ;) (I can´t spell anything in neither english or icelandic anymore, I´m going to have too take lessons when I get back :S)
Well, it´s sunny today so...
Hasta pronto,
